Are You Kidding Me Smallville?

Do you remember when Clark and Lana finally declared their love and Lana got killed because of that and Clark when back in time to save her? Remember when Lana was forced to marry Lex and he IMPLANTED AN ALIEN FOETUS INTO HER WOMB and then proceeded to VISIT CLARK AT HIS HOME TO DISPLAY LANA'S ULTRASOUND SCANS JUST TO SHOW OFF? How about when Lana was held hostage and forced to video-record her own suicide and the tape was sent to Clark, remember all that? How about the fact that up till both of them turned 16, they lived in front of each other and were constantly looking at each other but never spoke to one another because Clark would get sick and weak every time he went close to her (FOR 16 YEARS) and they finally realized that it was because she had always been wearing the necklace her dead mom gave to her and there was a piece of kryptonite rock in the jewelery, and so Clark smashed it and finally they could have an actual conversation? After 16 years? These two people obviously have the most horrific romance in all of tv history and I'm not even exaggerating. Carrie Bradshaw has got NOTHING on Lana Lang.

So Lana's been gone for a whole year right? And now she's back in town and she finally gets to be with Clark again. But now Lana's stolen Lex's superpowers and she's now a superhuman, so she's strong and she can be with Clark without him ever worrying about her safety. Everything seems perfect right? Well no. Today, I watched consumed in horror, as Smallville reveals that Lex has altered Lana's superpower such that she absorbs kryptonite energy (that's the stuff that Clark/Superman is allergic to) and now Clark can't be close to her without literally tearing his own flesh off!!! HOW TRAGIC IS THAT?

But the good news is, this is the final blow and Lana's leaving for good. Lana is never coming back. I'm kinda heartbroken but when one single relationship has made you feel so wretched so many times, its a relief to watch it finally go poof. I guess now Smallville can go all out into full Lois-and-Clark mode.
