So, korean dramas are kinda crazy. I happened to be walking by our hall on my way to the kitchen and somewhere along the journey, I got hooked on this show my sis was watching.
Its about this girl who was interviewing for a job as a make-up artist and it was all pretty serious bizznazz and the interviewer was all fierce-like and bad-ass.
Interviewer: So tell me about your make-up
And the girl proceeds to spend like 10minutes explaining the make-up on her face for that day, which I find is pretty ridiculous. I'd hardly think that when you hire a hair-stylist, you'd spend a good portion of the time interviewing her asking about her fascinating choice of hairclips for that particular day. Seriously its like she wore her entire resume on her face!
So finally the rampage of insightful make-up explanations ends, and the interviewer was like, Okay thanks. But this girl was all, Oh wait there's more.
Girl: I actually also put make-up on my body, because I think make-up is more than just for your face.
Me: Huhhhh!!!
AND she slowly moved her hands down like she was about to pull up her blouse and demonstrate how you can draw crazy eyelashes around your bellybutton or something. (I know that sounds ridiculous, but I was caught off-guard by the idea of putting on make-up on your body (???) and I panicked and arrived upon the fastest mental image my mind could summon) But well, her hand continued to move downwards and she lifted her miniskirt up (!!!) to her whimwham to expose her upper thigh. (Thank gawd)
And then, she proceeds to rub off make-up from her upper thigh to expose a truly heinous scar (it looked like somebody microwaved her thigh and topped it with raw meatballs and linguini, it was an awful awful scar which couldn't possibly have been covered by any amount of make-up in the first place, so it must have been highly deceptive tv effects) and everyone on the interview panel was suddenly deeply impressed. (Amazing how, in Korea, the gasps of 3 seemingly quiet interviewers can rival the howling winds of a mini-hurricane)
Girl: I believe that make-up is for all parts of the body and it is magical. Make-up has given me the confidence to appear in front of all of you for this interview by concealing my scar, which I got from abuse that I suffered many years ago.
Ummm okay, or you could have worn PANTS??? Or at least a skirt that reaches even halfway towards your knees! Deriving confidence from wearing a miniskirt AND drawing inspirational applause upon ADMITTING it! Only in korean dramas, could the world be such an incredibly special place.
it's interesting. what is the title of the drama series?
